Compact rifle scopes

(30 products)

This collection contains compact rifle scopes. They are shorter and lighter than standard scopes, which suits a light hunting rifle, a carbine or a rifle with a short receiver. Most of them come from Vector Optics, one from Sightmark.

What you find here

  • Low power variable optics: the Vector Optics Constantine and Continental in 1-8x24, 1-10x24 and 1-10x28, and the Sightmark Strikon VMP 1-4x22. They start at 1x for fast shots at short distance.
  • Hunting scopes: the Vector Optics Matiz from 2-7x32 to 4-12x40 and the Hugo 3-12x40 and 3-12x44.
  • Veyron compact scopes: from 2-8x32 to 6-24x44, and the fixed Veyron 10x44 and Veyron Plus 10x30.
  • Higher magnification: the Continental x6 2-12x44, the Continental x8 2-16x44 and the Orion Pro MAX 3-18x50.

Tube diameter

Most scopes here have a 30 mm main tube. Some have a 1 inch (25.4 mm) or a 34 mm tube. The tube diameter is in the first lines of each scope description. Your rings must have the same diameter. See Scope rings by diameter.

FFP or SFP

FFP (first focal plane) means the reticle grows with the magnification, so its marks are correct at every setting. SFP (second focal plane) keeps the reticle the same size, and its marks are exact at one magnification only.

For full-size scopes, see Standard rifle scopes. For the smallest prism scopes, see Subcompact rifle scopes. Scopes sorted by distance are in Rifle scopes for short-range shooting, Rifle scopes for mid-range shooting and Rifle scopes for long-range shooting.

Frequently asked questions

Is a compact scope less precise than a standard one?

No. Compact means shorter and lighter. Precision depends on the magnification, the reticle and the turrets, not on the length.

Which rings do I need?

Rings with the same diameter as the main tube of your scope, mostly 30 mm. For a rifle with a Picatinny rail, see Scope rings for Picatinny base.

Can I mount the scope myself?

Yes. Fix the rings on the rail, put the scope in, set the eye relief, level the reticle and tighten the ring screws evenly to the torque given by the maker.
