This collection contains red dot mounts for the Colt 1911 Government. The mount replaces the rear sight, so you fit a red dot without milling and without permanent changes. Yes. The mount takes the place of the rear sight. No milling and no permanent changes.

Can I install the mount at home?

Yes, with a sight pusher or a punch. Drift the rear sight out, push the mount in and tighten it, then screw the red dot on with threadlocker.
