Key Question: Optics Ready plate, or dovetail mount?

That is the question you have to answer based on the model of handgun you have.

Does it have slide cut? Then you need optics ready plate.
Is it the classic "old school" gun with sights and no cut in the slide? Then you need dovetail red dot mount.
