This collection lists all red dot sights by brand. It also contains magnifiers, footprint adapters and mounting screws from the same makers. Use it if you already know which maker you prefer. Before you choose, check which footprint your pistol plate or mount takes. The footprint matters more than the brand, because red dots from different makers often share a footprint.
Holosun
Holosun is the largest brand in our range. The open pistol red dots 407C, 507C, 507 Comp and 508T use the Trijicon RMR footprint. The 407K and 507K use the Holosun K-series footprint. The 509T and the EPS are enclosed red dots for pistols. The 510C is an open reflex sight for rifles and shotguns, also sold with the HM3X magnifier. Many models have a green dot version.
Holosun features named in the titles and descriptions:
-
Shake Awake: the red dot switches off when it does not move and wakes up when you pick up the gun.
-
Solar Failsafe: a solar panel powers the dot as a backup to the battery.
-
Multi-Reticle System (MRS): you choose between a dot, a circle or both.
-
SCS: solar charging red dots made for one optic cut, so they need no plate.
See Holosun.
Vector Optics
Vector Optics makes the Frenzy family of pistol red dots: Frenzy, Frenzy-S, Frenzy-X, Frenzy Plus and Frenzy F3. Some Frenzy models fit one optic cut directly. Examples are the versions for the Glock MOS, the CZ Shadow 2 Optics Ready and the Walther PDP 2.0. Most Frenzy models have a 3 MOA dot. Depending on the model, they use the Trijicon RMR, Docter, Shield RMSc or C-More RTS footprint. Vector Optics also makes the Maverick magnifier. See Vector Optics.
Shield Sights
Shield Sights from the United Kingdom created the Shield RMSc footprint. All our Shield red dots use it. Many models are available with a glass lens, marked [Glass] in the title. The others have a polymer lens. See Shield Sights.
Olight
Olight makes the Osight red dots. Several of them have a magnetic charging cover with a battery display. The Osight S, SE, XE and XR are enclosed models. Osight models use the Trijicon RMR or Shield RMSc footprint, and the Osight SE DPP uses the Leupold DPP footprint. See Osight.
Sightmark
Our Sightmark red dots include the Mini Shot, Ultra Shot, Volta and MTS Mini Solar. The Strikon FMP is a 1x prismatic sight. Sightmark also makes the T-3, T-5 and XTM-3 magnifiers with a flip to side mount. See Sightmark.

What to compare between brands
-
Footprint: it must match your plate or mount.
-
Open or enclosed: an enclosed red dot has a closed housing, so rain, mud or dust cannot block the LED.
-
Dot size: given in MOA, mostly 2, 3 or 6 MOA. A smaller dot covers less of the target. A larger dot is faster to find.
-
Dot colour: red or green. Many models come in both.
-
Power: battery only, battery with a solar backup, or a rechargeable battery.
For red dots sorted by footprint, see Red dots.
Frequently asked questions
Does the brand of the red dot have to match the brand of the plate?
No. Only the footprint has to match. A Holosun 507C fits any plate with the Trijicon RMR footprint.
Which brand should I choose?
Start with your pistol. Check which plates or mounts exist for it and which footprints they take. Then choose a red dot with one of these footprints, by window size, dot size and price.
