This collection contains optic plates for the Dan Wesson DWX Optics Ready pistol. All plates are machined from steel by Impact Machine in the USA. The plate goes into the factory optic cut and takes a red dot with a matching footprint.
Footprints
Plates are available for these red dot footprints:
- Trijicon RMR
- Shield RMSc, on a plate that also takes the Holosun K-series footprint
- Leupold DPP
- Aimpoint Acro
Choose the plate that names the footprint of your red dot.
Plates with an integrated rear sight
Some DWX plates have a rear sight built in behind the red dot. You can co-witness: you see the iron sights through the red dot window. If the red dot fails, you can still aim. Plates named "with integrated rear sight" are available for the Trijicon RMR and the Shield RMSc footprint.
Steel plates
Steel plates are heavier than aluminium plates. On the DWX, all plates in this collection are steel. See Optics ready plates for Dan Wesson DWX Optics Ready.
Installation
Remove the factory cover plate from the optic cut. Screw the optic plate into its place, then screw the red dot onto the plate. No milling is needed and you can do it yourself. Threadlocker on the screws is recommended.

Can I install an optic plate on my Dan Wesson DWX at home?
Yes. You need no gunsmith and no milling.
- Remove the cover plate from the optic cut.
- Screw the optic plate into the cut.
- Screw the red dot onto the plate.
Put a drop of threadlocker on every screw.
Which red dots will fit my DWX?
It depends on the plate you choose. Every plate takes one footprint or a group of footprints. For DWX pistols we have plates for the Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Holosun K-series, Leupold DPP and Aimpoint Acro footprints.
Choose your red dot first and find its footprint in the specifications. Then take the plate with the same footprint.
Can I keep iron sights with a red dot on the DWX?
Yes. Choose a plate with an integrated rear sight. You see the front sight through the red dot window and can still aim if the red dot fails. Impact Machine makes these plates for the Trijicon RMR and Shield RMSc footprints.
