Red dots for rifles

This collection contains red dots for rifles, shotguns and carbines, and magnifiers that go behind them. Most of them mount on a Picatinny rail.

Red dots

• Holosun: the open 510C, also in FDE and with a green reticle, and the enclosed AEMS.
• Steiner: the T1Xi and the MRS with a Picatinny or universal mounting.
• Sightmark: the Ultra Shot A-Spec, M-Spec and R-Spec, the Volta Solar, the MTS Mini Solar and the Strikon FMP 1x18 prismatic sight.
• Vector Optics: the Maverick, Scrapper and Nautilus series, the Omega and the Victoptics SRD and Z1.
• Others: the Firefield Impact and RapidStrike and the Shield SIS2.

Magnifiers

A magnifier sits behind the red dot and enlarges the target 3x or 5x. You flip it to the side when you need the red dot alone. Here you find the Sightmark T-3, T-5 and XTM-3, the Vector Optics Maverick-III 3x22 and Paragon 3x18 and 5x30 Magnifier Micro, and sets of the Holosun 510C with the HM3X magnifier.

Open or enclosed

An enclosed red dot such as the Holosun AEMS keeps rain, mud and dust away from the LED. An open reflex sight such as the 510C gives a large window and a wide view.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a pistol red dot on my rifle?

Yes. Put it on a Picatinny mount with the same footprint. A mount with a raiser lifts it to the height of your eye. See Red dot mounts for Picatinny base.

Do I need a magnifier?

Only if you want to see targets further away. With a flip-to-side mount you switch between 1x and the magnified view in a second.
