Sights for Springfield XD

Sight fitment for the Springfield XD is covered here in full - it is part of Springfield's duty and carry range, built on the HS Produkt platform. The XD was Springfield's first HS Produkt import and remains one of the most common duty and carry pistols on US ranges.

A carry gun spends most of its life not being looked at, so its sights need to work the one time it matters without warning - tritium keeps a visible sight picture at night, and a serrated, glare-free rear keeps the front post the only thing drawing the eye in daylight.

Stocked as matched front-and-rear sets, individual front sights, adjustable sights. Illumination options include fiber optic, tritium, white dots, white lines.

Fiber optic front sights gather ambient light along a thin rod and glow at the tip - fast to find in daylight, which is why most competition shooters run one on the front post. Tritium sights use a sealed, self-illuminating gas vial instead, holding a visible sight picture in the dark with no battery to charge.

For a carry or duty gun, tritium closes the one gap factory sights usually have: visibility with no ambient light. Fiber optic is the better daylight performer, but only tritium keeps working once the sun goes down.
